Abstract

This text seeks to present subversive cartography as a methodology used in Cartography classes in the Geography degree of Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar/Sorocaba), highlighting its contribution to the citizen and interdisciplinary formation, as well as to the protagonism and emancipation of the individual. By questioning the foundations of traditional cartography and at the same time reflecting on the ideologies and objectives of cartographic representations, subversive cartography allows countless possibilities for interdisciplinary and thematic dialogue, starting from the individual's knowledge to the interpretation of contemporary dynamics, linked among other factors to (geo)politics.
