Abstract

The text narrates my journey of thirty years in magistério since 1985, iniciating the career as literacy teacher for nine years, when in 1994 I started acting on ensino fundamental II and ensino médio. In 2000 I passed on public tender in Geography and History in Rede Estadual de São Paulo, leaving literacy and proceeding with teenagers. Still in 1999 I started the search about theoric-methological deepen, going to academical researches, with lato sensu especialization, then master’s degree, the second especialization and finally the doctorate’s degree, always taking literature and theoreticians that gave me support to getting through in knowledges about scholar geography and carthography teaching. It was three decades of constant researches and studies. Search from different authors in the field of education, geography teaching and school cartography, there’s no price to a public school teacher that leave São Paulo’s interior to a capital University seeking for researchers that could support her to getting through in her praxis and knowledge. That is my contribution to geography teaching and to brazilian education.
