Text written by Prof. Dr. Ellyn Lyle in 2017 and originally published in the book “Ways of Being in Teaching”, edited by Sean Wiebe, Ellyn Lyle, Peter R. Wright, Kimberly Dark, Mitchell McLarnon, and Liz Dayda, and published by Brill. This translation was carried out in the context of Felipe Costa Aguiar’s doctoral sandwich program, under the supervision of Jeani Delgado Paschoal Moura in Brazil, from the Graduate Program in Geography (PPGEO) at the State University of Londrina (UEL), and co-supervised by Ellyn Lyle at Cape Breton University (CBU), in Canada, between October 2024 and March 2025, with funding from the Sandwich PhD Abroad Program (PDSE), according to CAPES Call No. 06/2024.
